CALCAREA CARBONICA
TYPE AND PRESENTATION
The typical Calcarea patient may be likened to an oyster in a shell.
They are flabby, inert and helpless organisms whose only defence is
to withdraw into themselves.
They have many fears and anxieties, suffer from night terrors and
grind their teeth at night.
They are fair, fat, flabby, lymphatic and indolent with an excess
of soft tissues but a deficit of muscular power.
They commonly have large, hot, sweaty heads with flushed cheeks,
large abdomens and cold, sweaty extremities.
Delayed milestones are frequently seen along with soft and weak bones,
swollen glands and recurrent infections.
They crave indigestibles, eggs and sweets and have sour smelling
sweat, eructations, stool and all discharges.
Symptoms are aggravated by the cold and damp and by the full moon.
This is mainly an anti-sycotic/tubercular remedy.
